India's rapid economic growth presents a significant opportunity to accelerate its exports & tap into the $300 billion export potential in India. The "Business Beyond Borders" summit is a dynamic platform that aims to enhance awareness of international trade and e-commerce, provide engaging opportunities for entrepreneurs to learn, grow, network, export, and help businesses build their presence in foreign markets.
The summit will feature various sessions, including engaging panels, skill-building opportunities, and the participation of government & business leaders and dignitaries. It will provide practical advice and connections for Indian Entrepreneurs & MSMEs looking to successfully expand their reach in the Global Valu Chain. With the right strategies, the $300 billion target for the Indian Export Industry can drive export growth, job creation and adopt e-commerce as the new route to enter the international market.
Further, the summit will also feature the call for applications for the second edition of IndiaXports, a rejuvenated initiative of India SME Forum, to increase the number of first-time MSME Exporters and facilitate the exporters community by providing a knowledge sharing export platform on matters of business, finance & taxation, certifications and entry in different foreign markets, amongst others.

Profile Details

Mr. Santosh Kumar Sarangi has over 35 years of experience working in various capacities in the State and Central Government. His key focus areas include boosting India's exports, enhancing trade relations with other countries, promoting and diversifying the export basket, matters related to WTO etc. He has previously served as the Additional Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. Further he has also served as Chairman of Paradip Port Trust from August 2020 to June 2022.

Mr. Mohammad Moin Afaque

Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade

Profile Details

Mr. Mohammad Moin Afaque, Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade, is the Primary Officer-in-charge for the Foreign Trade Policy 2023 Chapter on ‘Promoting Cross Border Trade in Digital Economy’. He has been working closely with Dept. of Revenue, RBI, Dept. of Post & Ministry of MSME for promoting Exports through E-Commerce Channels. He has been working in the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and Department of Commerce for the last 9 years, prior to which he had worked in Investment Banking for 5 years with Lehman Brothers and Nomura. Mr. Moin Afaque completed his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur, Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics & has also Cleared 3 levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA) Program.

Mr. Alok Chaturvedi

Former IAS, Former Director General of Foreign Trade

Profile Details

Mr. Chaturvedi is a distinguished retired bureaucrat of the Indian Administrative Service, culminated his career as the Director General of Foreign Trade for the Government of India in September 2019. In his post-retirement phase, he has assumed the role of Director General at the Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs (EPCES) in Delhi. Mr. Chaturvedi has showcased his expertise through various roles in both the Government of India and the State Government of Bihar. His extensive career also includes a significant role as the Joint Secretary (Infrastructure & Finance) in the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, from June 2012. He holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and an MBA in International Public Policy from the University of Birmingham, UK.

Mr. Ateesh Kumar Singh

Shri Ateesh Kumar Singh is a Joint Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. He is responsible for the Accelerated Rural Industry Development Programme (ARI), which aims to promote the development of rural industries and generate employment opportunities in rural areas. He has been actively involved in the promotion of eco-friendly and sustainable development practices in the MSME sector.

Mr. Ajay Srivastava

Mr. Srivastava is an experienced professional with a distinguished career in trade, leveraging his expertise as a former Indian Trade Service officer from the 1989 batch. He has played a pivotal role in India's WTO and FTA negotiating teams, showcasing his experience in trade policy and analytics. Mr. Srivastava has also authored books on trade and regularly shares his insights through writings in prominent publications such as Hindu Business Line and Times of India. His proficiency extends to GST and IT systems, complemented by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Marketing and Leadership from the prestigious Indian School of Business.

Dr. Amit Kapoor

Chairman, Institute of Competitiveness

Profile Details

Dr. Kapoor is an affiliate faculty member at Harvard Business School's Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, teaching Microeconomics of Competitiveness and Value-Based Health Care Delivery. Dr. Kapoor's doctoral work is in Industrial Economics and Business Strategy, and he was awarded the Ruth Greene Memorial Award by the North American Case Research Association (NACRA). His research interests include improving competitiveness, gaining a competitive advantage, and leveraging technology for success. Dr. Kapoor is the author of several books, including India City Competitiveness Report, India State Competitiveness Report, and India State Sustainability Report.

Dr. Radhicka Kapoor

Professor, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER)

Profile Details

Dr. Kapoor is currently a Professor at ICRIER & has previously worked at the Planning Commission and at the International Labour Organization. She has been a part of the Annual Survey of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India, supported by Walmart, a member of the Trade & Working Group for India’s G20 presidency & part of the team of the Secretariat to the G20 Expert Group on Strengthening MDBs. Over the last few years, she has worked extensively on the various facets of India’s labour market, in particular, in the areas of the informal economy, the impact of technological changes on the world of work, the measurement of employment and unemployment, the role of labour regulations and industrial performance.

Ms. Deepali Agrawal

Ms. Agrawal currently the CGM at EXIM, has worked in different capacities at both the domestic and international offices of the Bank over the past twenty-six years. She has headed the Bank’s Western Region Representative Office and Singapore Representative Office & worked in diverse areas like corporate banking, project exports, communications and brand management, upliftment of grassroots level artisans, women empowerment and skill development. She has participated and contributed as a working group member at government-level committees related to policy development and road map development. Ms. Nikita Singla

Consultant & Trade Facilitation, World Bank

Profile Details

Ms. Singla is an International Trade, Logistics and Inclusion Specialist, with over a decade of experience in South Asia & has worked across more than 40 ports across the South Asia region. As a consultant, she has advised the Governments of India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka in varying capacities on trade, logistics and inclusion-related issues. She was formerly Associate Director at New Delhi-based Bureau of Research on Industry and Economic Fundamentals, where she led the Time Release Studies, an annual assessment of trade facilitation across ports in India, in compliance with the World Trade Organization's Trade Facilitation Agreement.

Mr. Rahul Ahluwalia

Founding Director, Foundation for Economic Development

Profile Details

Rahul Ahluwalia is the founding director of the Foundation for Economic Development. Rahul Ahluwalia was a consultant for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's policy team at the India Country Office. He has also worked at NITI Aayog, where he contributed to policy documents on water resources, governance, education, and poverty measurement. Before that, he worked as a researcher at Brookings India, IFMR, and ISB, focusing mostly on econometric analysis using huge Indian datasets to determine the impact of policies. He holds a master's degree in economics from the University of British Columbia as well as an MBA from IIM Calcutta.

Dinkar Singh is Director Public Affairs for UPS Express in India. In this role, he oversees Government Affairs and Regulatory requirements for UPS. He has 21 years of experience in export and import consultancy and the logistics industry. He has deep knowledge of import and export regulations and the Customs Act. His strategic focus areas have been advocating for change, strengthening operations, and enhancing efficiencies. His prior experience includes setting up of a new Business Unit, Project Management, and Re-engineering existing business processes to improve service levels.

Mr. Kumar is an investor and mentor, with a passion for growing innovative and disruptive brick and mortar, Small and Medium companies with a high growth trajectory, Vinod, currently serves as the Honorary President at the India SME Forum, apart from advising various governments and International institutions like UNCTAD, UNISAR, ITC, for strategizing and dealing with current issues and future challenges of Sustainable Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment.
