The 22nd forum Secrets of Success on SMEs centered on the objectives of Knowledge sharing and best practices to enhance competitiveness of the Small and Medium Entrepreneurs organised by India SME Forum along with Reliance Commercial Finance a division of Reliance Capital, Bharti Airtel, Bank of India, BSE SME, brought to light the perspectives of the opportunities to promote SME sector. India SME Forum empanelled with industry Experts and Mentors discussed the potential gateways for SME Competitiveness and what is required to combat issues and adopt right measures to grow.

The Forum laid emphasis on best practices, avenues for collaboration, technology up-gradation, innovation and importance of cluster based approach and how to use the knowledge to improve performance and be highly innovative in their approach which is one of the most important factor in the Knowledge-Innovation based Economy, acting as the driving force behind expanding global commerce .
Multiple issues that are hampering the growth of SMEs came to light which needs a collective effort and approach to set the system right where the basic needs of the SMEs should be made channelized and made available for them to move ahead .
Experts, from Bank of India ,BSE -SME Rating ,Stock exchange head, and Industry Association Presidents emphasized on the relevance of SME development and progress that primarily depends on ,robust infrastructure , common facility centre ,financial accessibility training and skill development. Star Guest at the forum Mr Prahlad Kakkar Ad Guru addressed the second session on Marketing & Branding , addressing the SMEs of Pune with his Brand Marketing Mantras . While emphasizing on this point, Prahlad commented “entrepreneurs must have to have a vision which is scalable in nature. highlighted the relevance and role of social media for SMEs by saying," This is a smartest way to engage with the target community. The capability of social media is immense for SMEs. As they can target their potential markets according to the regional specifications. Social media has become a platform for personalized engagement with SMEs. Branding can contribute in this area significantly."
The discussions at the forum brought to light many successful business ideas that have created brand worth with cost effective brand and marketing techniques that have built and grown through targeted marketing mediums like digital , social and integrated media highlighting the importance of Social media and Internet as an effective marketing tool to reach out to the desired class of people .
Mr Vinod Kumar ,Country Head SDRC & Honorary VP, ISF summarized the sessions He categorically emphasized that It is essential for an entrepreneur to have clarity of his vision for growth and the progressive approach that needs to be adopted by the Emerging SMEs highlighting the need for SMEs to fill skills gaps for tackling constraints and achieve sustained success through innovative approach in Businesses.
