SMEs in Bhopal primarily manufacture engineering goods, power equipment or medicines. and holds tremendous potential for cluster development as the existing clusters are not able to sustain growth & development process due to use of obsolete technology, plant and machinery, thus, there is a need to interconnect all clusters among themselves by adopting e-Cluster Model to provide them with a level playing field and make it globally competitive. Recognition of more clusters by the government will bring inclusive and balanced growth and promote unique Cluster Branding in Bhopal as well as other prominent cities in Madhya Pradesh.
Bhopal SME sector has been grappling with lack of basic infrastructure especially transportation facilities and thus, there is an urgent need to enhance connectivity and also there is a need for creating continuously more awareness among the SMEs about government schemes and policies.
The outreach of the schemes, so far, has been very insignificant and in spite of the support being provided toSME's by Government institutions and other players in banking, financial & corporate sector through the introduction of policies, process simplification and integration, these growing Enterprises are continuously facing problems in accessing the benefits.
As part of its objective to Catalyze the needs and benefits of economic growth to every corner of the country, India SME Forum has already identified more than 180 cluster development initiatives.
Mr Vinod Kumar,Country Head SDRC & Honorary VP, ISF summarized the sessions and spoke about the progressive approach that needs to be adopted by the emerging SMEs and the role that India SME Forum will play in the progress of the SMEs by cluster development initiatives thereby identifying opportunities for leveraging support mechanisms in marketing, finance, technology, innovation, finance, skill development, trade and.
Investment in order to help SMEs to be globally competitive. Apart from development of internal capabilities,SME's also require assistance to handle their finance, human resource and compliance related activities for which ISF is working towards creating best practices knowledge pool to enhance the capabilities of the SMEs
He also stated that ISF will also conduct a guided tour to select and identify 180 cluster development markets across the country.
