The Secrets of Success for Small & Medium Business - Season II" successfully hosted its fifteenth event on 13th December'13 in ITC Rajputana Jaipur in association with Rajasthan Chamber of commerce and Industries (RCCI) Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industries Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan MSME- DI along with Reliance Commercial Finance a division of Reliance Capital, Bharti Airtel, Bank of India, BSE SME Exchange
The Forum was inaugurated by Mr M.K Saraswat ,Director ,MSME-DI ,Jaipur,Mr K.L.Jain,Honorary Secretary General,Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce &Industry, Mr DS Bhandari,Vice President,Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industry,Ms Sushma Morthania Director General India SME Forum and Mr Vinod Kumar Country Head SDRC &Honorary VP,India Sme Forum
Presiding over the forum Mr K.L.Jain,Honorary Secretary General,Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce &Industry,, said Small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) are poised to become big in the Indian markets if they get the desired support in terms of investment, infrastructure subsidy export promotion .He mentioned in his speech that Vijayraje Scindia was the first to introduce the Credit Guarantee Scheme during the Vajpayee lead government and also first to initiate the Vendor development program and he also stated that with Scindia Now as the State head of Rajasthan will be a very positive sign to further development of Rajasthan specifically the Small sectors
The 1st session of the SME conference saw the delegates involved in a series of thought-provoking discussions in which people who came from different industries and clusters interacted with the eminent Mentors on various topics on finance ,infrastructure, fiscal discipline technological up gradation and collaborations, increasing overall competitiveness and Rating for fast track capitalization & growth
The deepening of the contacts and discussions took place on the second session that delved with the importance of Marketing & Branding, how to cut through jargon and use the new digital media: Identifying Cost Effective marketing solutions to optimize efficiency and use something to its best advantage / target the New Generation/ Social Media and Internet tools based marketing strategies for reaching customers.
After having spread the aims and objectives in both the sessions participants were inspired by speech of the Director General MS Sushma Morthania who shared her views on the role of Government and banks in supporting the SME's to upgrade their level of Business and adopt and make use of the schemes and policies for them to make their businesses competitive in the global market.
After the sessions, the one to one meetings enabled the delegates to specifically get in touch with the Mentors who discussed business and collaboration possibilities and also got solutions to many other queries for their individual businesses
Mr M.K Saraswat,Director,MSME-DI,Jaipur highlighted that Small enterprise promotion has continued to remain an important and integral part of Indian development strategy but unfortunately there is no concerted effort to cultivate and develop the small sector to its full potential This state of affairs hints at the lack of support and facilitation ,of the policy instruments devised for upgrading technological capabilities of small firms as also promoting competitiveness and entrepreneurship of Small and Medium entrepreneurs He said that Secrets of Success forum is an enlightening platform for building awareness of SME's
The conference was another successful attempt to bring together the Small and medium entrepreneurs on the knowledge sharing platform bonding closer ties between the Mentors and the entrepreneurs
Mr Vinod Kumar Country Head SDRC &Honorary VP,India Sme Forum moderated the sessions and shared his perspective on SME development which requires a crosscutting strategy that touches upon many areas i.e. ability of governments to implement sound economic policies, to develop conducive economic business environments, inter alia, through simplified legal and regulatory frameworks, good governance, abundant and accessible finance, suitable infrastructure, supportive environment and the ability of SMEs to implement competitive operating practices and business strategies .He emphasized on the need for effective business support to enhance competitiveness and productivity of SMEs.
The forum was attended by around 110 SME's from Jaipur and surrounding clusters .
