The Secrets of Success for Small & Medium Business - Season II" successfully hosted its thirteenth event on 3rd December'13 in Park Plaza in association with Fasteners Manufacturers Association Ludhiana ,Laghu Udyog Bharti, and other local trade associations , along with Reliance Commercial Finance a division of Reliance Capital, Bharti Airtel, Bank of India, BSE SME Exchange
The Forum was inaugurated by Mr S S Dhillon MSME - DI, Ludhiana, Mr Rajeev Jain Gen Sec of UCPMA President of Laghu Udhyog Bharti ,Mr S.C. Ralhan,President Ludhina Hand Tools Manufacturers Association, India, Ms Sushma Morthania Director General India SME Forum and Mr Vinod Kumar Country Head SDRC &Honorary VP,India Sme Forum
The session was truly enlightening and a turning point for most SME's of Ludhiana which brought together great source of knowledgeable speakers and Mentors who have shared all the aspects of business management that outlined the need for such an educational platform that could really help entrepreneurs overcome challenges arising due to financial instability lack of adequate resources and facilities needed to progress and take their business at a fast track
Giving their perspective on the various topics of discussions on the panel were eminent speakers namely Mr Amrish Shah,Chief Financial Officer, Reliance Commercial Finance,Mr Anant Upadhyay ,Zonal Manager,Bank of India-Ludhiana Zone,Mr S.S. Dhillon, Director,MSME- DI,Ludhiana Mr Gurmeet Singh Kular,President Federation of Industries & Commercial Organisations and Mr Vinod Kumar ,Country Head SDRC &Honorary VP,India Sme Forum
Mr.S.S Dhillon Director MSME-DI- Ludhiana about the developing face of the SME Sector and the opportunities that lies in different industries. He stated that there is huge potential for investment in this hub of industrial network ranging from processed agro products, transport equipment, textiles, readymade garments , leather products , bicycle/engineering industry etc.
Mr Anant Upadhyay ,Zonal Manager,Bank of India-Ludhiana Zone stated that there is a need for developing strong entrepreneurial environment in this highly potential city and State by and large which has its expertise in the industrial front and there is a need of proper channels of linkages to various schemes and benefits to seek solution to the problems of the SME's in the city
Ms Sushma Morthania Director General of India SME Forum stated The aim of such interactive forums, is to boost the confidence of the Small business owners and to enhance their knowledge that will expand their outlook of knowledge on growth related constraints that is preventing their progress”
Mr Vinod Kumar ,Country Head SDRC & Honorary VP, India SME Forum summarized the session with his thoughts on the need for more and more integrated support for SME's to grow in the field of technology, marketing, access to information to enhance credit worthiness of SMEs, There is a need for strategic alliances with commercial banks to facilitate credit to the SMEs, Training cum Incubation centers needs to be create self-employment opportunities.
The Forum was attended by around 140 enthusiastic Entrepreneurs from Ludhiana from fasteners industry, knitted outer wear industry machine tool industry, bicycle/engineering industry oil expellers and parts manufacturing industry printing and packaging industry and many more
